When an almost 200 year old maple tree died and was being taken down, I saved a section of the trunk. I let it air dry for almost 4 years, not even sure what I was going to do with it. Then I had the inspiration; the maple tree reborn as a table base! The reMaple table. I flattened the top and bottom, refined the sides and filled cracks and voids with tinted epoxy. I added the 6’ diameter glass top by using stainless steel standoffs so the top floats above the wood. A table with a great story!
